New year, new blog. As 2009 draws to a close, I have been thinking I need a hobby beside reading People and Us Weekly. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but people tend to look at you funny when you say reading gossip magazines is your hobby. I guess it means you're not deep or something. Whatever! Anyway, I asked my friends for suggestions. Some of the suggestions I got made me think making new friends should be my hobby, but one wise friend suggested starting a blog. I mean I spend enough hours reading other people's blogs, why not start my own, right?
It sounded great, but what would I write about? Obviously, my family would be a great start. It would make the grandparents and other far away friends and family happy. They can see my beautiful children's faces and hear about what we are doing in our oh so exciting lives. The problem was, though I find my children endlessly fascinating and entertaining, I was not sure anyone else would see it the same way.
Then, I thought about what I am interested in and what I am passionate about. One, my faith, two, politics, and three, pop culture. I figured those topics are random enough to make an interesting blog. You never know what I might be rambling about from day to day. One day it might the fiasco that is Tiger Woods' life, the next it might be the whole health care debacle, and the next predestination and Calvinism (kidding, my faith is strong, but I am no religious scholar!). All I am saying is I hope to keep you on your toes and entertained.
Come along with me, the best is yet to be!

Hey what's wrong with Us magazine, ha! I call it my trash magazine and it is the highlight of my Wal-Mart trip. I don't mind long lines, I actually look for one so I can read my trashy magazine. What you didn't think I would actually pay for it, ha! Only when I am traveling and need a good read. By the way I am SO glad you are FINALLY blogging. I think you are one of the best writers I know. I can't wait to read your blogs and see pictures of my beautiful nieces who I don't see often enough. Love ya!
