A Thanksgiving to Remember

Another Thanksgiving has come and gone. This one was much better than last year. For one thing, Kenny didn't fall off a horse and get a concussion this year! That always makes for a good day!

Also, the Aggies won!!!!

I hope your Turkey Day was filled with family, friends and lots of good food!

Oh Christmas Card, Oh Christmas Card

It's that time of year again! Time to drag my children hither and yon to get the perfect photo for our Christmas card. You know the one. The one where they are both smiling and perfectly posed. The one where just moments before they were killing each other. The one where I am saying in my sweetest voice (read: yelling), "Smile and look like you love each other."

Then, I get to upload all the pictures we took, argue, I mean discuss, with Kenny which one perfectly represents us and our girls and then edit the heck out of it. The color balance and brightness must be perfect!

Last, I get to go online to a photo site and find a card that fits us perfectly. Funny, but a reminder of what this season is all about. Cute, but not sickeningly sweet. Another argument, I mean discussion, with Kenny and finally we have the perfect card.

The good news for me is the last step just got a whole lot easier thanks to Shutterfly. They are giving me 50 free cards just for blogging about them and their awesome products. You can do it, too! Just go to: http://bit.ly/sfly2010 and sign up your blog!

They have the cutest Christmas cards! I am having a hard time deciding, but I have found a few favorites. What do you think?

Vivid Hope

They also have other great products that would make nice gifts. Everything from personalized mugs to wall calendars. Of course, if time gets away from you and you forget all about Christmas cards, you can always go with these.

I can't wait to get started on mine. I know they will be great thanks to Shutterfly!

Long Time, No Write

Yes, it has been over 6 months since I last wrote on this blog. Sorry Mom! Here's what's been up:

Not long after my last post, I got a new job, which is something I had wanted for quite a while. Yay God! My new job takes up a lot more of my time and I rarely have time to just sit and play on the computer. When I do, writing is the last thing on my mind. I just want to veg out! I am sure any mom can relate!

Life here is good. Kenny and I went to Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University last spring and it was such a blessing! We have completely changed how we look at and handle money. I would recommend it to anyone even if you think you have it all together financially.

The girls are great! Ashlyn is doing competition cheerleading through a local church. Maybe I should do separate post on that! :) Madison is still making straight As and it looking at going to a charter school for high school. It's a school for math and science which is right up her alley. Students are chosen by lottery, so it's all in God's hands.

That's all the time I have for now. I promise to try and be better at this blogging thing, but no promises! :)

Ashlyn's Got Talent

On Friday, Ashlyn performed in her school's talent show with two of her friends. They sang Taylor Swift's "You Belong to Me". They did so good and were so cute! I am so proud of her! No way you would find me singing in front of an audience nor would you want me to! :) American Idol her we come!

Here We Snow Again!

Today, we are enjoying a Winter Wonderland here in Georgia! We got 5 inches of snow yesterday! We got a little snow back in January, but this is the real deal. Enough snow for snowmen, snowball fights and sledding with whatever you got. This southern girl loves it! Its enough to play in and enjoy, but thanks to the sun and above freezing temperatures, it will be gone soon and we don't get trapped in our house for days on end. Perfect!

Here's what our yard looked like as the snow began around 1:30 yesterday afternoon:

Here's what it looks like this morning with 5 inches on the ground:

The girls have had a great time playing in it. We don't have sleds at our house, but we do have a boogie board and they put it to good use:

Our dog, Jenna, is a Siberian Husky, so snow is right up her alley. She is loving it!

And, of course we built a snowman. Right in the middle of our street!

I have some very happy children who are going to be very tired tonight! (I hope!)

What a great day!

When I Grow Up I Want to Be Betty White

I love Betty White. She is 88 years old and has still got it. She makes growing old look fun! She was hilarious this summer in "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock. She had the best lines!

This year she received the Lifetime Acheivement Award from the Screen Actors Guild. Her speech was both funny and touching:

Then, last night during the Super Bowl, she was in this awesome commercial:

Betty White you rock!
